PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to repeatedly display a symbol or a character by a display format intended by an editor or the like even when the number of characters in each line is variously different by arranging a control code instructing the repeated display of a prescribed character on a character code string constituting text data. SOLUTION: In the case of repeatedly displaying one character or code when text data is edited by an editor, a control code 'IF23' or 'IF24' instructing repeated display is arranged before the character code to be repeatedly displayed on an optical disk 8. Consequently a required character can be repeatedly displayed by a format intended by the editor by executing display in accordance with the control code even when the number of characters in each line is variously different in accordance with the size of a display area. In addition, the same character or code can be repeatedly displayed even when the same character code is not repeated, so that the data volume of text data can be reduced. |
