PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water softening device which can be used even in specified using places in a general home. SOLUTION: This water softening device is provided with a resin housing part 2, a raw water tank part 3, and a salt water tank part 4 in one vessel. And in the water softening device, a raw water overflow part 6 of the raw water tank part 3 is provided in the upper position from the upper end of a packed bed of ion exchange resin 1 of the resin housing part 2. Furthermore, three cycle control of a water passing process, a regeneration process, and washing process is performed, and on the regeneration process and on the washing process, raw water is made to overflow the raw water overflow part 6 of the raw water tank part 3.
