PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like polymer electrolyte battery reduced in weight and compacted having mechanical strength endurable to external forces such as impact. SOLUTION: This plate-like polymer electrolyte battery has a plate-like generation element 1 with external connection terminals 2a and 4a, reinforcing body 5 disposed to enclose at least the rim part of the generation element 1 and a polymer seal body 6 for sealing the generation element 1 as it leads- through the external connection terminals 2a and 4a. Here, the reinforcing body 5 is of a frame type, a sheath type or a fit type. Further, the reinforcing body 5 may be sealed on the polymer seal body 6 along with the generation element 1 or may constitute a part of the polymer sealing body 6. |
