PURPOSE: A neutral position determination device of a manual transmission prevents a miss-operation and improves a transmission control by making a driver to certainly perceive a choice position between a 1/back-stage and 2/3-stage and 4/5-stage and 6-stage. CONSTITUTION: A neutral position determination device of a manual transmission comprises a control shaft(53), a control finger(54), a 1st spring(71,71') and a 2nd spring(72). The control shaft(53) has a rectilinear and rotary movement in a transmission case(51) according to the operation of a change lever. The control finger(54) fixed to the control shaft(53) moves or selects one of shift locks(1/back, 2/3, 4/5, 6-stage) (62,64,66,68). The number of the shift locks is at least 4. The 1st spring, supported by both sides of the control finger(54) and the side of the transmission case, provides an elasticity when the control finger(54) moves from one of the shift locks(4/5-stage) to the next stage(6-stage or 2/3-stage). The 2nd spring(72), supported by at least one side of the control finger(54) and the side of the transmission case, provides an elasticity when the control finger(54) moves to the last stage(1/back-stage) after transferring the shift lock(4/5-stage) to the next stage(2/3-stage).
