The system has a multi-rail refrigerant supply of at least three rails and at least one more refrigeration device. In a failure situation re-cooling mechanisms or refrigeration machines are connected together so that a refrigeration machine is changed over to another re-cooling mechanism or a re-cooling mechanism can be started by several different refrigeration machines via short circuit paths or ring lines. The system has a multi-rail refrigerant supply of at least three rails and at least one more refrigeration device. The minimum number of circulation air conditioning devices per room unit corresponds to the minimum number of lines. One plate heat exchanger (PWT) is used per line and each refrigeration unit (KM) is normally associated with a re-cooling mechanism (RKW). In a failure situation the re-cooling mechanisms or refrigeration machines are connected together so that a refrigeration machine is changed over to another re-cooling mechanism or a re-cooling mechanism can be started by several different refrigeration machines via short circuit paths or ring lines.
