METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SPHERICAL POROUS BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a spherical porous body by which a spherical porous body can be obtained with a high production yield and the uniformity of the particle size of the porous body can be improved. SOLUTION: A solution containing a 0.001 to 0.027 mol/L surfactant expressed by general formula (1), 0.01 to 0.25 mol/L silica source material and water is made to react under basic conditions. The mol number of the surfactant is controlled to >=1/10 of the mol number of the silicon atoms in the silica source material. In formula, each of R1 to R3 is an alkyl group, X is a halogen atom and n is an integer of 8 to 14.
