PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment device capable of discharging gas within the device from it without any limitation with respect to the installation place of the device by inhibiting any deterioration of the surrounding environment due to release of an odor in the gas within the device to the outdoors, resulting from opening of a garbage charge port, from being caused. SOLUTION: This garbage treatment device is provided with: a garbage treatment device body 2 which is placed within a kitchen console board 1 such as a kitchen unit, and used for the purpose of subjecting garbage to decomposition treatment with microorganisms and has a garbage treatment vessel 3; a garbage charge port 7 fitted to the upper surface 6 of the kitchen console board 1; a duct 9 for communicating the garbage charge port 7 and the inside of the garbage treatment vessel 3 with each other; a gas discharge passage 11 which is used for the purpose of discharging gas within the garbage treatment device body 2 from it to the outside of the device and provided with an deodorization vessel 13 and a fan 12; and an air blow hole 18 which is formed near the lower end of the duct 9 and used for the purpose of obliquely and downwardly blowing air sucked from the inside of the garbage treatment vessel 3 again into the vessel 3 at a position right below the lower end opening of the duct 9 is provided.
