PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for transmitting electronic mail of voice message whose handling convenience is improved. SOLUTION: A caller connects a fixed telephone set to the fixed telephone set of a party (S1) and waits for a response from the fixed telephone set, and when there is no response, a voice message is generated for leaving a message in a so-called automatic answering telephone set and a line is disconnected. Then, after the absence of response is detected (S2), a computer controller stores the voice message which is generated before the line is disconnected, in a storage means (S4), and when the cutting signal of the relevant line is detected (S5), a control command is issued to a repeater, then in the repeater, the stored voice message is converted to the digital data of a prescribed file form (S6) and sent to the Internet, adding an electronic address (S7). The sent voice message is stored in a mail server (S8) and can be taken out on a personal computer anytime (S9).
