METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANAGING MEMORY USING INDEX INFORMATION OF MEMORY BLOCKS

PURPOSE: A method and a device for managing a memory using index information of memory blocks are provided to manage the memory faster than sequential information management by managing the index information of the memory blocks with a height-balanced binary tree. CONSTITUTION: A memory allocation detector(100) detects whether the predetermined block from the memory is allocated or allocation of the previously allocated block is release. A tree manager(200) manages the index information for the remained unallocated blocks of the memory according to the height-balanced binary tree. The tree manager manages the index information according to a memory size of the remained blocks.
