PURPOSE: A method for transmitting multimedia contents to identify a caller and a system therefor are provided to enable a caller to send multimedia contents to a receiver, so that the caller can directly set a bell sound or a screen outputted from a receiver's terminal when the caller makes a call. CONSTITUTION: A user logs in a transmission system(301). The user inputs a caller's telephone number(302), and inputs a receiver's telephone number by using multimedia contents(303). The user receives multimedia contents outputted to identify a caller among the multimedia contents stored in a multimedia contents DB(304). The user inputs a text message to be transmitted with the multimedia contents(305). An MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) message is formed, and is transmitted to a terminal corresponding to the receiver's telephone number(306).
