<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive discharge lamp lighting device in which variations of brightness of the respective discharge lamps are reduced by equalizing current flowing in a plurality of the discharge lamps without increasing the number of circuit parts of high withstand voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A serial resonance circuit is formed by a capacitor installed between variable inductance elements 4A, 4B and the discharge lamps 5a, 5b and by a leakage inductance Le of a step-up transformer 3 and the inductance LV of the variable inductance element, and a tube current detection part 6 is installed at the other end side of the discharge lamp, a signal of the tube current detection part is connected to a tube current control circuit 7, the output signal from the tube current control circuit is connected to the variable inductance element, and the inductance of the variable inductance element is varied, thereby the tube current of the discharge lamp is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
