PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver in which seizure can be prevented without employing an image dedicated to seizure prevention. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver 30 comprises a scaler/OSD circuit 12 for forming an EPG screen. With reference to a data base in a memory 14, a CPU 13 makes a decision whether the date when EPG is displayed previously is different from the date of today or not. If the date is identical, a decision is made that switching of design is not required. If the date is different, a decision is made that switching of design is required and the EPG design is altered. When the EPG design is altered, color of each program column area is altered with reference to the display color record of each program column area from the data base.
