<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies useful for both railway service providers and passengers, which solve problems that passengers who want to ride through cannot ride on, specified vehicle positions, quality of selectionable seats and illegal rides cannot be handled, and can effectively deal with both situations of congestion and non-congestion. <P>SOLUTION: In a seat reservation system related to a train 1, a reservation seat management host computer 10 has a train capacity management part 11 which manages reservation acquisition within the capacity of the train 1 when reserving specified seats for passengers, and a seat management part 14 which manages specification for an individual seat 3 when a passenger rides on the train 1. In addition, the seat management part 14 has a vehicle acquisition part 12 which specifies a vehicle 2, and a seat acquisition part 13 which specifies the seat 3. Vehicle specifying processing suitable for passenger positions is performed through a first reservation ticket reader/writer 26 in a reservation ticket gate machine 25 at which passengers pass, and seat specifying processing, in which passengers' desires are reflected, is performed through a second reservation ticket reader/writer 4 installed near the seat 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
