<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source having high luminance and uniform luminance as well. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source has a reflecting frame adopting different design on its shape, and the upper part of the reflecting frame forms an installation space by covering an ultraviolet shutoff layer and a substrate. A plurality of ultraviolet light sources are installed in the installation space and a fluorescent powder layer is provided on the wall face of the reflecting frame in the installation space. Thereby, the ultraviolet light radiated by the ultraviolet light sources is directly or indirectly irradiated on the fluorescent powder layer and emits a visible light. The visible light directly or by reflection by the reflecting frame transmits through the ultraviolet shutoff layer and the substrate and the surface light source having the high luminance and uniform luminance is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
