PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile capable of moving an auxiliary step to a use position projecting outside of the vehicle body side in synchronization with the opening and rotating of a side door supported rotatably, openably and closably in the vehicle body side, or staying the auxiliary step at a storage position even when the side door is opened. SOLUTION: The lower end of a lock bar 14 is engaged with the auxiliary step 4 by the opening operation of a door handle 12 installed in the side door 2, the auxiliary step 4 is moved to the use position by opening the side door 4, and the side door is opened without engaging the lower end of the lock bar 14 with the auxiliary step 4 so that the auxiliary step 4 may stay at the storage position.
