PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client device and an application program, capable of smoothly performing operations without requiring awareness of a communication protocol by enabling cooperation with the services of various communication protocols except a usual Web service communication. SOLUTION: A core processing section 20 has a function of reading a WSDL file including description representing a specific communication protocol and identifying the description representing the specific communication protocol in this file. A common I/F section 21 sets protocol-compliant adaptors 25, 26 for transmitting and receiving messages using the communication protocol represented by the description identified by the core processing section 20.
