PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform power-line transmission by mobile equipment operating without utilizing any commercial AC power supplies, such as a PDA and a cellular phone. SOLUTION: The mobile equipment has a modem for power-line communication and a coil for transferring a power-line transmission signal to the outside by electromagnetic coupling, and uses a leakage signal from the power line of other pieces of power-line transmission equipment to perform mutual communication. A coupling device is connected to the power line. The coupling device has: a filter for attenuating an AC component of the power line; and a coil for performing electromagnetic coupling with a coil at the side of the mobile equipment at a poststage of the filter.
