1. A bicycle transport case, comprising:
a base having a top surface and a bottom surface; a front dropout retainer mounted to the top surface of the base, the front dropout retainer configured to releasably engage fork drop outs of a bicycle; a rear dropout retainer mount mounted to the top surface of the base; a rear dropout retainer pivotally mounted to the rear dropout retainer mount, the rear dropout retainer configured to releasably engage rear drop outs of a bicycle frame, the rear dropout retainer including a bottom portion and a top portion disposed in a telescopic engagement, a bolt configured to extend through the bottom portion and the top portion to fix the bottom portion and top portion in a selected relationship, the bolt configured to engage a threaded means for providing or reducing a pressure on the bottom and top portions to fix the bottom portion and top portion in the selected relationship, a tube mounted on a top end of the top portion, the tube having a length configured to fit between the rear dropouts of the bicycle frame, and an adjustable skewer having a first end and second end, the skewer disposed within the tube and configured to receive the rear dropouts of the bicycle frame between the first and second ends of the skewer; a first side releasably mountable to the base, the first side also having a pair of side panels and a top panel defining a cavity open on one side to partially enclose the bicycle mounted to the base; and a second side releasably mountable to the base, the second side also having a pair of side panels and a top panel defining a cavity open on one side to partially enclose the bicycle, the first and second sides cooperating to completely enclose the bicycle when the bicycle transport case is in a closed condition, the second side including at least one wheel mount bracket for releasably mounting a wheel removed from the bicycle to the second side. |
