The present invention relates to a method for producing a biocatalyst from synthetic gas produced by gasifying raw carbonaceous material using a strain belonging to genus Thermococcus. According to the present invention, mass production of useful biocatalyst from the raw carbonaceous material is possible by the production method of the present invention, thereby securing economic feasibility. In addition, the method of the present invention does not cause production of additional harmful by-products as well.
