A curable fluoro elastomer is composed of (A) 100wt.% fluoro elastomer (I), (B) 0.5-5 wt.% curing agent, and (C) 2-30 wt.% basic bivalent metal oxide or hydroxide. The fluoro elastomer comprises (a) 65-100 wt.% vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene units, and 35-0 wt.% tetrafluoroethylene unit, (b) ratio by wt. of vinylidene fluoride: hexafluoropropylene of 80:20 - 50:50, (c) intrinsic viscosity 250-500 ml/g, (d) ratio of Mw/Mn of 2-12, and (e) a bimodal mol.wt. distribution with ratio H2/H1 of 0.8 4.0 where H2 is the peak-height of higher mol. wt. and H1 is the peak-height of lower mol. wt. shown by a chart of gel permeation chromatography.
