PURPOSE:To improve the lie characteristic of a stacked fuel cell by adjusting the impregnation ratio of an electrolyte impregnated in an electrode catalyst layer in advance lower for a high-temperature section unit cell than for a low- temperature section unit cell in a block constituted of multiple unit cells. CONSTITUTION:Blocks each consisting of 5-layer unit cells 2 are stacked, and cooling plates 3 are arranged between the blocks to constitute a stacked body. A liquid electrolyte is impregnated in advance into the electrode catalyst layer of a low-temperature section unit cell 23 directly cooled by the cooling plate 3 at the electrolyte impregnation ratio of 50-60% against the hole capacity. The electrolyte is impregnated into the electrode catalyst layer of a high- temperature section unit cell 22 stacked in the middle of the block 5 and indirectly cooled via other unit cells at the impregnation ratio of 30-40%. The electrolyte is impregnated into a medium-temperature unit cell 24 between both unit cells 23, 22 at the impregnation ratio of 40-50% which is nearly the intermediate value between both values. The life characteristic of the unit cell 22 can be extended to the same level as that of the unit cell 23. |
