PURPOSE:To shorten the input time of the electronic editing and printing system which uses a computer by simplifying an input method and a coordinate specifying method for spread sheet generation. CONSTITUTION:Numeral input screens are provided as subscreens for respective screens of various plotting menus of the electronic editing and printing system. For example, a start point field 15 or end point field 23 is indicated on a straight line input screen 13 with a mouse cursor and then a coordinate numeric input screen 16 is displayed in response to clicking. Numbers of a number table 17 which are selected by the mouse operation are displayed in an X1 coordinate field 18 and a Y1 coordinate field 19. When a data input button 20 is clicked, the coordinate numeral input screen is erased and the input data are written in the start point field 15 or end point field 23 of the straight line input screen 13. After the start point or end point setting, the straight line input screen 13 is erased once an input button 21 of the straight line input screen 13 is clicked, and a straight line is drawn in a plotting area 22. |
