PRODUCTION OF AMIDE COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To provide a method extremely improved in activity and life of manganese oxide, capable of producing an amide compound industrially and advantageously because of inexpensive preparation of the manganese oxide. CONSTITUTION:A nitrile compound is reacted with water in a liquid phase to produce an amide compound. In the reaction, manganese dioxide prepared by using a bivalent manganese compound and a permanganate as raw materials and adding one of the manganese compound and the permanganate as an aqueous solution and the other as a solid is used as the catalyst.
