PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for notifying an increase in pressure in the case of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor and for preventing a gas leak and a liquid leakage. SOLUTION: An aluminum electrolytic capacitor has a protective case 1 including a cylindrical part 1a covering the outer peripheral surface of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor body 4, a diaphragm part 2 connected to the top of the cylindrical part 1a and covering the top of the condenser body 4, and an extended cylindrical part 1b connected to the bottom of the cylindrical part 1a; a pressure plate 5 fitted in the bottom of the cylindrical part 1a in the protective case 1 and having lead holes 9 for passing the electrode lead base parts 6 of the electrolytic capacitor; opening sealing rubber 7 which is filled in the bottom side of the pressure plate 5 in the extended cylindrical part 1 and through which electrode leads 6, 6a pass; and soft filling material 8 such as paraffin or wax which is filled in a recess formed opposite to the lead opening holes 9 in the opening sealing rubber 7.
