PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the required performance and to prevent the damage to an incinerator and the occurrence of environmental problem in incineration after discard by carrying out molding using a degradable polymer having a specified water absorption and a specified flexural elastic modulus. SOLUTION: The member for a photographic sensitive material is obtained by injection molding using a degradable polymer having >=6% water absorption and >=8,000 kgf/cm2 flexural elastic modulus. The member has the required moisture-proof property and optionally has light shielding property, physical strength and dimensional precision so as to house the photographic sensitive material and to retain the quality and performance of the photographic sensitive material over a long period of time. The degradable polymer is a polymer that is biodegraded, photodegraded or thermally decomposed in the natural world when discarded and it is a biodegradable polymer, a photodegradable and thermally decomposable polymer or a polymer having biodegradability, photodegradability and thermal decomposability.
