PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque limiter capable of rapidly reducing load between a first and a second rotation bodies immediately after the actuation of the limiter. SOLUTION: This torque limiter 2 is provided with a torque transmitting fitting part 8 for fitting a pulley 1 and a hub 5 ruggedly, and an axial moving means 9 for axially shifting a protruding part 8b of the torque transmitting fitting part 8 when rugged fitting comes off to cause the relative rotation of the pulley 1 and hub 5. The axial moving means 9 is a tapered face 9a formed at the side face of a recessed part 8a, that is, an inclined face extending axially forward. When the pulley 1 is rotated in relation to the hub 5 by the actuation of the limiter, the tapered face 9a pushes out the protruding part 8b axially forward to release the rugged fitting of the torque transmitting fitting part 8. Large load is not therefore applied to a belt after the actuation of the limiter.
