LIGHT MODULATOR AND ITS DRIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a light modulator which is suitable for usage as an optical writer in an electronic photographing process. SOLUTION: An EL element 304 is formed on a package upper lid 302 so as to face multiple beams 101 which constitute multiple optical switches. A projected shape part 303 for collecting lights from the EL element to the beams 101 is formed on the package upper lid 302. When the respective beams 101 are driven, the lights reflected against a light reflection surface 106 are outputted from a window 313 of a shield film 306 to the outer part of the package.
