PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolation insulator with a low noise used for a current collecting device of a railway vehicle in a high speed traveling. SOLUTION: The isolation insulator in which cross-sectional shapes of the insulator are circular or oval, and shade diameter sizes of them have 3 or more varieties and they are alternatively and repeatedly arranged so that shade distances are made to be smaller while space insulation distances among shade tips of the greatest diameter insulators are secured. A creepage distance of the insulator is increased by improving shade densities, and an insulating performance of the insulator is secured. Further, a speed increasing ability of an air current at the insulator drum circumferential part of the shade bottom part is reduced, and a protrusion is installed on the shade face in order to reduce a flow ablation between the shades, so that an eddy region at the insulator backward is controlled and the noise reduction is aimed at by reducing eddy diameters.
