PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidation dehydrogenation catalyst which can gas-phase oxidation dehydrogenate lower alkane by molecular oxygen to produce a corresponding olefin with high yield, and to provide a production method of a corresponding olefin with high yield from lower alkane using this catalyst.

SOLUTION: The oxidation dehydrogenation catalyst of the alkane consists of a specific composition. This catalyst is preferably supported by a fire-resistant inorganic oxide. Then, a gas-phase oxidation dehydrogenation of the alkane and the molecular oxygen is performed in the presence of the catalyst so that an unsaturated hydrocarbon compound and an oxygen-containing hydrocarbon compound can be produced.
