1. A modified polyamide 6, comprising:
an inorganic material having an open pore structure; and polyamide 6 polymeric matrix, wherein at least a portion of the polymeric matrix is within pores of the inorganic material, and wherein the porous inorganic material, in the absence of the polymeric matrix, has a BET surface area determined according to ISO 9277 (1995) of 50 m2/g to 3000 m2/g, a pore volume determined according to ISO 9277 (1995) of 0.1 cm3/g to 15.0 cm3/g and an average particle size of 0.5 μm to 500 μm, and is inert to ε-caprolactam during polymerization of ε-caprolactam. |
