A method and apparatus for re-establishing a standby database. The method comprises: acquiring file information about a first page-style structure file of a host database and file information about a second page-style structure file in a standby database, wherein the first page-style structure file and the second page-style structure file are data files having a correlation (101); comparing the file information about the first page-style structure file with the file information about the second page-style structure file to obtain a comparison result about whether the file information is the same (102); and re-establishing the standby database according to the comparison result about whether the file information is the same (103). By adopting an increment to re-establish a standby database, the time of re-establishing the standby database can be shortened.
