MANUFACTURE OF CONTACT LENS SUPERIOR IN TRANSPARENCY AND HYDROPHILIC PROPERTY

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a contact lens rich in transparency, wettability after being allowed to stand in air, and durability, by treating a contact lens made of silicone resin in a specified condition to form a hydrophilic polymer film on its surface. CONSTITUTION:A silicone resin is poured into a contact lens molding vessel to mold the contact lens made of the silicone resin. This lens is subjected in a 0.1-5Torr vacuum air atmosphere to 20-50W low temp. plasma for 10-60sec., and further, at 0.5-5Torr vacuum in 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone atmosphere to low temp. plasma polymerization with 40-70W high-frequency power for 30-120sec to form a several - several tens nm thick polyvinylpyrrolidone film on the surface of the silicone resin contact lens.
