PURPOSE:To enlarge the area for carrying a catalyst and to enhance a function for collecting particulate matter and to reduce pressure drop by uniformly forming a ceramic carrier layer on the inner faces of fine holes in the inside of a filter by a sol-gel method. CONSTITUTION:An equipment is provided with a decompressed vessel 14 and a cylindrical filter 13 is fitted by perforating the hoop thereof. A guide 16 for supplying coating liquid is connected to the upper end. The filter holder 13 is utilized according to the size of the filter to be treated and exchanged. A filter 11 is fixed to the inside of the filter holder 13 via a sealing ring 15. While the inside of this decompressed vessel 14 is evacuated by a decompression pump connected to a suction port 14a, coating liquid 12 is supplied to the filter 11 from the guide 16. After the coating liquid is passed through the filter, it is sufficiently sucked. Thereby high dispersion in the inner faces of fine holes is confirmed. Finally the filter 11 is detached from the filter holder 13, dried and fired. |
