- The subject of the invention is a coating for thermal-protection material of the type containing an aggregate of inorganic fibres, especially carbon fibres or silica fibres, characterised in that it consists of at least one layer of a silicone-based material covering at least the surface which may be exposed to the causes of erosion (weathering) of the thermal protection device made using the said aggregate material. - Application to thermal protection structures.
