PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize at low temp. a compound oxide containing alkali metal without use of an excessive amount of alkali metal compounds by putting an alcoxide of alkali metal in reaction with oxyhydroxide of transition metal, and allowing proton to make ion exchange with alkali metal ion. SOLUTION: In a reaction bath consisting of alcohol or alcohol derivative, an alcoxide of alkali metal is put in reaction with an oxyhydroxide of transition metal at a temp. of below 250 deg.C, and ion exchange is generated between proton and alkali metal ion. This does not cause large excess of alkali metal in the fed-in composition at the preparatory stage with crude materials, and it is possible to synthesize an alkali metal containing compound oxide given by the formula Mx H1-x M'O2 (where 0<x<=1, M is one or more of the elements Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs, and M' is one or more of the elements Fe, Mn, Co, Ni, Cr, and V). |
