PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way optical amplifier module which is lessened in number of optical parts, decreased in insertion loss, deteriorates an NF less, and is lessened in size and manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An up-direction signal light is guided to an optical amplifier 5 through a first optical circulator 1 and a WDM 4, exciting light emitted from an exciting light source 6 is made to be incident on the optical amplifier 5 through the WDM 4 to excite Er in the optical amplifier 5, the up-direction signal light is amplified, ASE is removed from the signal light through a band reflection filter 9 while it is circulated in a second optical circulator 2 through the WDM 7, and then the light signal is taken out through a port 2c. A down- direction signal light is guided to the optical amplifier 5 through he second optical circulator 2 and a WDM 7, exciting light emitted from an exciting light source 8 is made to be incident on the optical amplifier 5 through the WDM 7 to excite Er in the optical amplifier 5, the down-direction signal light is amplified, ASE is removed from the signal light through a band reflection filter 3 while it is circulated in the second optical circulator 2 through the WDM 4, and then the light signal is taken out through a port 1c. |
