PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a person by his (or her) palm print by means of a comparatively simple processing, to shorten a collation time required up to certification and to reduce the volume of information to be stored so as to attain a high speed processing. SOLUTION: Each personal identification information includes feature information of respective parts obtained by dividing a palm print impression into three parts consisting of a four-finger base part 41, a thumb globe part 42 and a pinkie globe part 43. The intermediate point 33 of the middle finger and the medical finger, the intersection 34 of the emotion groove 31 and the little finger end side and the arm trident 35 of the intersection of the wrist side life groove 32 and the palm print impression segmenting frame 30 are specified as palm print impression, while the areas of the base part 41 and respective globe parts 42, 43 are respectively specified by a globe part division line 36 to be a straight line connecting the intermediate part 33 to the arm trident 35 and a base part division line 37 to be a straight line starting from the intersection 34 and vertical to the division line 36 and these areas have suitable positions and sizes capable of specifying a person. |
