OPTICAL CABLE AND CABLE ARRANGEMENT

The cable (1) comprises at least one strip of optical fibres (8) consisting of several optical fibres (9) disposed on a plane (10). A supporting strip (14) runs parallel to a broad side (11) of the strip of optical fibres (8). The supporting strip (14) and the strip of optical fibres (8) are surrounded by a common cable sheathing (2). The supporting strip provides the optical fibres with adequate protection against bending radii and radial stress when the cable is highly flexible.
