A system and method are disclosed for covering a stented heart valve prosthesis (10) with biological tissue (70, 72, 74, 76, 78), such as pericardium. The prosthesis (10) includes a stent (14) that is covered with a fabric material (52). A heart valve (12) is mounted within the stent (14), such as by sutures securing the heart valve (12) to the fabric covering (52). One or more sheets of biological tissue (70, 72, 74, 76, 78) are applied to the stented prosthesis (10) so as to cover all exteriorly exposed areas of the fabric material (52). |
