摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element with which a high-quality display picture is obtained even when manufactured with a dropping method. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is constructed by disposing a pair of transparent substrates having alignment layers formed at least on a part of their one side surfaces opposite to each other via a sealant formed so as to surround the vicinity of their outer circumferences with a specified gap in such a way that the respective surfaces with the alignment layers formed thereon are placed opposite to each other and sealing a liquid crystal material in a space formed by the transparent substrates and the sealant wherein the alignment layers and the sealant are not in contact with each other.
