METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLANT BODY DECREASED IN TANNIN CONTENT, THE PLANT BODY OBTAINED BY USING THE METHOD AND USE OF THE PLANT BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a plant body decreased in a tannin content. SOLUTION: The method for producing the plant body decreased in the tannin content comprises producing a chimeric protein formed by fusing a transcription factor which promotes gene expression of an enzyme participating in a phenylpropanoid synthesis system together with a functional peptide which converts an optional transcription factor into a transcription inhibitory factor in a plant cell, by introducing a chimeric gene composed of a gene which encodes the transcription factor and a polynucleotide which encodes the functional peptide into the plant cell. Thus, the plant body decreased in the tannin content is produced, because the chimeric protein inhibits expression of a gene participating in a tannin synthesis system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
