PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod having a reel seat plate capable of improving the gripping and holding performance independently of the diameter of the rod and the type of the reel attached to the rod. SOLUTION: The fishing reel has a reel seat plate 10 provided with oppositely placed reel-fixing hoods 11, 12 and attached to a rod pipe 1 and an assisting tool 20 bulging at a side reverse to the reel seat plate. The highest bulged part 21 of the assisting tool 20 is positioned between the opening ends 11b and 12b of the hoods when the reel is attached between the hoods. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
