<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the verification precision of a read image acquired by reading a printing result and a manuscript image being the origin of the printing result. <P>SOLUTION: The manuscript image data supplied by a printing controller 40 is printed on paper by a developing unit 20 and a fixing unit 25 and the printing result is read by an image reader 30. The read image data acquired as a result reflects the space frequency characteristics of the image reader 30. The printing inspection device 50 acquires the manuscript image data from the printing controller 40 and a space frequency filter showing the space frequency characteristics of the image reader 30 is allowed to act on the manuscript image data.
