<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which the number of sensor detection ports of a CPU is economized by detecting an original document width with an output signal (one bit) of one sensor among a plurality of sensors. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with an encoder circuit 51 for encoding a signal from a plurality of original document width detection sensors and an OR circuit 52 for ORing the signal from the plurality of original document width detection sensors. In this example, an original document width detection sensor receives five types of signals being A0, A1, A2, A3 and A4 as an A sequence and three types of signals being B1, B2 and B3 as a B sequence and encodes the signals to input them as a three-bit signal (A, B and C) 55 to a port of the CPU 50. In addition, a carrier-over signal (CR) outputted when two bits or more in input are simultaneously turned on is connected to the port of the CPU 50 from the encoder circuit 51. Furthermore, eight types of signals being A0 to A4 and B1 to B3 are inputted to an input of the OR circuit 52 and an output 53 is inputted to a port of the CPU 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
