A tag reading apparatus of a mobile terminal for suing an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) service and a method for sorting tag information thereof are provided to count a redundancy frequency and sort tag information if information about plural readable tags is read, and display the sorted tab information on a display unit, so that a terminal user quickly inquiries desired tag information. An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) unit(210) reads tag information from plural readable tags(100). If there is tag information redundant with pre-stored tag information among the read tag information, the RFID unit sorts the tag information based on the redundant frequency. A memory(133) stores the tag information. A display unit(131) displays an operation state of the RFID unit. A controller(230) performs a control operation so as to display the sorted tag information on the display unit by controlling operations of the RFID unit.
