<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device with a long life and high power. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a light emitting element, a light guide member for guiding light from the light emitting element, a holding member installed at least in an emission side end of the light guide member, and a wavelength conversion member arranged at the emission side of the light guide member for absorbing at least part of light from the light emitting device to convert it into the light of different wavelength.
