摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an on-vehicle continuously variable transmission capable of suitably restraining an increase in engine oil consumption at a high vehicle speed. SOLUTION: This control device of the on-vehicle continuously variable transmission CVT can steplessly and continuously change the gear ratio. The gear ratio of the CVT is controlled so that an input shaft rotating speed (≈an engine speed) of the CVT is maintained in a high rotation guard value Llim or less by setting a control area of the CVT regulated by the most speed increase line Lhi, the most speed reduction line Llo and the high rotation guard value Llim. The increase in the engine oil consumption at the high vehicle speed is restrained by reducing a maximum engine speed of an engine in high speed travel by reducing the high rotation guard value Llim in such a CVT control area as compared with nonesuch time when a vehicle speed is a specified value or more.
