PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of cutting a gate while always keeping a constant heating time with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The gate cutting device is provided with: a liftable first cutting blade 7; a second cutting blade 21 fixed at a position confronting the cutting blade; a heater 8 for heating both the cutting blades; and a molded article support mechanism 14 for supporting a molded article with a runner. The molded article support mechanism consists of a molded article loading part 20c for liftably supporting the molded article, positioning parts 20a, 20b for positioning a gate of the molded article between both the cutting blades and a spring 18 for energizing the molded article loading part upward. On cutting the gate, the molded article loading part with the molded article loaded on it is moved down while resisting an energizing force. When the gate is cut off, the molded article with the runner cut off and the molded article loading part are moved away from the gate by lifting them together with the energizing force.
