PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external composition for skin containing 3-O-ethylascorbic acid having an excellent whitening effect for skin, and having high viscosity of a preparation, and excellent use feeling and stability of a preparation.SOLUTION: The external composition for skin contains 1) 3-O-ethylascorbic acid, 2) alginic acid or salt thereof, and 3) polyvalent metal salt. The polyvalent metal salt is calcium chloride. Preferably, the external composition for skin contains polyoxybutylene polyglycerol monoalkyl (monoalkenyl) ether. |
