PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that does not require a bias voltage storage unit or a communication unit to be provided in an electrostatic capacitive ultrasonic probe, and does not require means of communication with the probe and means to control a bias voltage by a value acquired by communication to be provided in a device body unit.SOLUTION: A probe includes a plurality of cells having first electrodes 13 and 42, and second electrodes 12 and 41 arranged spaced from the first electrodes 13 and 42. The plurality of cells include a transmission/reception cell 15 for executing at least one of transmission of an ultrasonic wave and reception of an ultrasonic wave, and a protection cell 16 that causes pull-in at a voltage lower than a pull-in voltage of the transmission/reception cell 15, and is short-circuited by the pull-in.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
